Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by. I'm Marek and this is my personal portfolio website. I wanted it to be simple and comprehensive - hopefully it is exactly that. If you'd like to know more feel free to contact me on LinkedIn.

About me

I started in IT in 2019 when I joined Atos GDC Poland as a service desk agent providing L1 support for English speaking end users. After one year on the desk I was promoted to a new position where I was responsible for knowledge management, new agents training and all other activites related to service desk operations support. Following initial SD stood up period, a number of automations were introduced for the customer including AI powered chatbot. I was put in charge of a very small team that was supposed to handle day-to-day chatbot operations that consisted of creating initial knowledge base, designing and implementing new user flows and mainting existing content. During this time I naturally emerged as a SPOC for all chatbot related matters within the account (both internally and externally) and eventually was asked to share my experience and working processes within Atos to help other teams doing the same for their assigned customers.

Towards the end of my time as a SD/Chatbot Knowledge Manager I worked closely with chatbot technical support team on enhancing tool's capabilties by introducing new features and integrations. This was my brief but very hands-on introduction to working with APIs, Node.js and more technical side of ServiceNow which eventually led to me joining the technical team. Since then I devoted significant portion of my time to learning programming and becoming more technically proficient. I started with basic front-end technologies (HTMl, CSS and eventually vanilla JS) while at the same time learning programming fundamentals in Python. Keep scrolling to find out how it went, how it's going and what I can do.

Technical skills

Throughout the years I learned how to use various tools and technologies for my work. Here are the ones I'm most comfortable with, but it's in no means a complete list of things I can do or will be able to utilize in the future.

Python
I've successfully deployed FastAPI endpoints that are used to gather, process, construct and convert internal tools' raw API responses into useful data. I've also designed and written automated tests for our tooling with selenium.
JavaScript
I implemented various custom chatbot widget functionalities in vanilla JS (front-end) and also worked on tailored integrations with ServiceNow using Node.js (back-end).
Data Engineering
I utilized Jupyter Notebooks to pull, clean and prepare reporting data from external sources to create PowerBI reports for internal purposes.
Automations
I worked with numerous chatbot products and other tools to create successfull automations. This involved managing AI knowledge operations as well as technical implementations and integrations.
API Utilization
Utilizing internal and external tools' APIs is part of my daily work. This includes extracting raw data, building custom integrations or testing.

ServiceNow
Implementing chatbots on Service Portal means I need to have understanding of SN technicalities such as widgets, catalog forms, incidents or CMDB.

Soft skills

During my engineering journey I have also built a strong suite of soft skills that undoubtedly allowed me to excel in all of my roles so far.

Language

Excellent langugage skills

As an English major I naturally excel at working with language or various language oriented tasks. I can produce all kinds of internal and technical high quality content like SOPs, WIs, product documentations or training materials. In addition, I have a vast experience in designing, writing and publishing end user facing content such as KB articles or chatbot user flows.

Presentation

Great interpersonal skills

Writing, however, is not my only strength when it comes to soft skills. I tend to do a very good job giving presentations hence I was asked to conduct technical product demonstrations or lead various training session on many occasions. I am also known to have the ability and willingness to be the face of the team, push for things to be done or act as 'that guy' connecting everyone.

Experience

Experienced IT professional

Everyday corporate world has a unique set of challenges but given my background and current experience I was always able to and I continue to successfully navigate any professional situation thrown at me. Whether it's hosting online meetings or choosing right battles to fight, I usually seem to find good balance or catch a misunderstanding midflight.
